A Renovated Suture Button is an upgraded version of the classic surgical anchor. It is a tiny, high-strength titanium plate with smoothed edges and improved holes. Its job is to sit on the outside of your bone and act as a "secure post" for the new ligament or tendon the surgeon is installing. It’s like the original button, but redesigned to be smaller, smoother, and stronger.
This button is most often used in Knee Ligament Surgery (ACL/PCL). It holds the new tendon in the bone tunnel while it heals. It is also a top choice for Shoulder Repairs, particularly when fixing a separated shoulder, because its smooth shape won't irritate the skin or muscles around the collarbone.
The biggest advantage is Patient Comfort. Many patients with older, bulkier buttons complain they can "feel" the metal through their skin. Our renovated design is so thin and smooth that it disappears under the tissue. Additionally, the improved holes make the surgeon's job easier by allowing the threads to slide and lock perfectly without snagging.
