Product Description
The set includes specifically designed aimers for the femur and tibia that follow the natural curvature of the knee. This allows for the most "anatomical" graft placement, which is the key to preventing future graft failure.
Our cannulated reamers are precision-ground to stay sharp for hundreds of cycles, ensuring they cut through bone cleanly without generating excessive heat that could damage the surrounding bone cells.
The system is designed to work with all standard ligament reconstruction techniques. The modular handles and interchangeable tips allow the surgical team to quickly adapt to any patient's specific anatomy.
While specialized for the knee, the depth gauges and small-diameter reamers are occasionally utilized in complex coracoid transfers or AC joint reconstructions requiring bone tunnels.
Not the primary indication, though the long-shaft curettes and certain bone reamers may be used in specialized acetabular repairs where deep-access bone work is required.
The gold standard for ACL, PCL, and MCL reconstructions. It is also the primary set for Multi-Ligament Knee Injury (MLKI) surgeries and pediatric ACL procedures requiring growth-plate-sparing techniques.

An ACL & PCL Instrument Set is a complete collection of precision tools used by orthopedic surgeons to rebuild the main ligaments of the knee. It contains special drills (reamers), aiming devices (guides), and measuring sticks (depth gauges) that help the doctor place the new ligament in the perfect spot.
This set is used for Knee Ligament Reconstruction. When an athlete "tears their ACL," the doctor uses this set to drill precise tunnels through the thigh bone (femur) and shin bone (tibia). The new ligament (graft) is then pulled through these tunnels to replace the original torn one.
The primary advantage is Surgical Accuracy. Rebuilding a ligament is a game of millimeters. If the tunnels are even slightly off, the knee won't move correctly. This set uses laser-marked guides to ensure the doctor drills exactly where they intend to, every single time. It also makes the surgery faster because all the tools are designed to work together perfectly.
Biomechanically, the set focuses on Anatomical Tunnel Positioning. The guides are designed to help the surgeon find the original "footprint" of the ligament. By aligning the tunnel with the natural force vectors ($F$) of the knee, the graft experiences less shear stress and more uniform tension ($T$), which significantly reduces the risk of the graft tearing again after the patient returns to sports.
The surgeon first uses the Aimer/Guide to select the tunnel entry point. A thin guide wire is passed, and then a Cannulated Reamer is used to create the final bone tunnel. The Graft Sizer is used on the back table to measure the new tendon, and the Depth Gauge ensures the surgeon knows exactly how long the tunnel is so they can choose the correct fixation button or screw.
These instruments are removed and sterilized after surgery. Because they allow for such precise drilling, the patient’s knee has less "unnecessary" bone damage. This means there is typically less bleeding and swelling inside the joint, which allows the patient to start their Knee Rehabilitation (moving and bending the leg) much sooner and with less pain.
The ACL & PCL Instrument Set is the professional choice for cruciate ligament surgery. By providing unmatched precision and a comprehensive tool selection, TOOLMED empowers surgeons to perform the most accurate reconstructions possible, helping athletes get back to the game safely.
Yes. The reamers and graft sizers are designed to work with all common graft types, including Hamstring, Bone-Tendon-Bone (BTB), and Quadriceps tendons.
While our reamers are made of hardened 304V steel, we recommend regular inspection under magnification. We offer sharpening services and individual replacement reamers if they become dull after heavy use.
Yes. Our tunnel measurements and reamers follow international standard sizing, making them compatible with most suture buttons and interference screws on the market.
Yes. The aluminum case is designed for high-pressure steam autoclaves. The silicone inserts are heat-resistant and will not degrade under standard sterilization temperatures.
The standard set includes adult-sized guides, but we offer specialized pediatric aimers that can be added to the kit for growth-plate-sparing surgeries.
